Does killing the criminal, kill the crime??
We come across crime news every day. A girl was raped by several people, a family was murdered by relatives, acid attack cases, and others.
At the same time, some victims receive justice, while others have their crimes not even registered.
Wait. What does this mean? A single crime can occur multiple times.
Yes. It occurs multiple times.
Older Criminal gets punished, and several new criminals get born.
If we look at the acid attack case, every next day, there is a victim, who suffers from an acid attack.
In the case of the Laxmi Agrawal case.
She was attacked in 2005 in New Delhi. In 2006, she filed PIL before the hon'ble court. And in 2013, the decision came up in her favor by creating a fresh set of restrictions on the sale of acid. Under the new regulations, acid could not be sold to any individual below the age of 18 years. One is also required to furnish a photo identity card before buying acid.
Just after the malti's case, Preeti Rathi's case came up, in 2019.
She was a nurse, a practitioner in Mumbai, and a 23-year-old girl, who rejected a proposal of the accused for getting married, as she wanted to build her career, first. The accused had thrown acid on her face and accidentally a few drops were falls on her fatal, which causes her death. a Special Court headed by a woman judge, Justice A.S. Shinde. She was shocked that the acid attack was so gruesome that it resulted in the death of the victim. At first, he was sentenced to death by Bangladesh’s very laudable Acid Crime Suspension Act. Later the death sentence was converted to life imprisonment along with payment of compensation to the parents of the victim.
not only girls but many times boys have to suffer from such crimes.
Now, the question arises, in the Laxmi's case, if the ban on acid sale was restricted and the new regulations were implemented regarding acid, then how can another girl get a victim of an acid attack?
No answer for this.
This is not going with acid crimes only but also to the rapes, take the case of the Nirbhaya gang-rape case, just after the judgment of the nirbhaya case, another rape case occurs, a small girl was raped by her father, another girl was raped in the temple.
The judiciary is working quite hard to serve justice to the victims. But still, the crime prevails.
To stop such crimes, the youth of the nation as well as the general public must take care of each person as well as if such crimes are tapping around you, you must help the victim, as well also try to rescue the victim.
The punishment should be much more hazardous than now. One must think 100 times before doing such crimes.
These methods may result in fewer crimes of this nature.
